PDF Studio – PDF Editor Software for Windows, macOS, Linux

By all accounts, it’s a solid and professional PDF editor for Mac. There’s, however, one caveat — you can hardly call Adobe Acrobat the best free PDF editor for Mac because to get all of its features you need to pay, a lot. If you subscribe for the whole year, it comes down to $15 a month. Otherwise, it’s $25.

An easy to use, full-featured PDF editing software that is a reliable alternative to Adobe® Acrobat® and provides all PDF functions needed at a fraction of the cost. PDF Studio maintains full compatibility with the PDF Standard.

I just want to say how pleased I was to see how much substance you put into your software. I’m also impressed with your online user guide, as well as the multi-platform support. So much software is offered without a user guide, depending on a “knowledge base” to help people learn. Very inefficient…

So, THANK YOU!

This program puts Acrobat to shame. Keep up the good work! – A linux user.

I just purchased PDF Studio Pro for personal use after spending a couple of days extensively trailing a whole bunch of other similar software. I’m an architect and use Acrobat Pro at work on a daily basis but I have to say that your software absolutely blows it out of the water! I have also used Bluebeam PDF software extensively on my previous Windows machine and again PDF Studio outshines it and is in my opinion, much better value for money.

– Walter C., Architect

PDF Studio Pro runs seamlessly on my Mac and I’m finding the interface/menus intuitive, logical and extremely easy to use. From a functionality viewpoint your software does everything that Acrobat/Bluebeam does but is far simpler and much easier to navigate/operate – I’ve not found any limitations yet. As you probably gathered by now, I am extremely impressed, so thank you for a fine piece of software that is a joy to use.

1. PDF Expert Pro

PDF Expert is my go-to recommendation for anyone looking for a solidPDF editor on Mac. It’s simple, easy-to-use, and feature-rich with the right amount of options at the right place.

Apart from PDF editing, the software also works better with the PDFviewing experience. From the Annotate menu, you can use highlighter, strikeout, and underline tools. My favorite function is Notes and you can add a note to any part of the PDF. On that file, a tiny note icon appears.

Speaking of ebooks, you will find the side-by-side page layout very useful. Other features include the ability to add stamps, signature, annotation, and more.

Talking about PDFs and we don’t mention an offering from Adobe? Not achance. The company offers Adobe Acrobat Pro software, which is preferable if you live in an Adobe ecosystem of creative apps.

I like how Adobe offers some of the basic PDF functions on the home screen. You can tap on a PDF from the recent menu and add acomment, signature, share, and edit it. The overall editing UI is intuitive, and I didn’t find any lag navigating the software on my low-powered MacBook Air.

The major functions include integrating text, pictures,password-protect a PDF, watermark, page organization, and more. You can save the PDF to Adobe Cloud and edit the file from any device.

Other functions include the ability to Compress PDF, PDFconverter to JPEG or PPT or Excel. You can also merge PDF, Split PDF,eSign PDF, unlock PDF, and even password-protect PDF.

4. Sejda PDF

Sejda is one of my favorite web-based PDF editors. The home page is quite pleasing to the eyes. The features are presented in an easy to access manner on the default page. Every option is easily identifiable and within reach.

The editing features include the usual text, link, highlighter, signature, shapes, and more. I like the form menu here. It lets you add quick checkmarks (that are usually required to fill-in form) and interactive fields. A well-thought addition from the company.

Before you export, the software offers a bunch of options to make the last-minute changes. You can merge, edit, compress, delete, and split pages before sharing it over the email or any other social network. Hit download, and you can directly save the file on your preferred cloud storage, including Dropbox, Google Drive, or OneDrive.

The software is free to use for 7 days, and after that, it costs $7.5 per month, relatively less than the competition.
